Crochet is a very versatile medium and I aim to show it can be used to produce beautiful and stylish pieces. My designs are contemporary but with timeless appeal.
Sustainability is important to me. I source most of my materials locally and regularly use rare breed wool in my designs. I feel strongly about the conservation of rare and traditional breeds and hope one day to keep my own small flock of sheep.
Rebecca Jackson is an independent crochet designer based in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. She creates crocheted accessories such as hats, scarves, shawls and mittens and also produces her own range of original patterns for crocheters.
Having previously studied Archaeology and worked in Archives I retain a deep interest in the past and a passion for ancient fibre arts. As well as crochet I also spin and dye yarns naturally using traditional dyestuffs such as madder and weld.
I am currently working with Wernddu Alpacas, Monmouthshire producers of luxurious Alpaca yarn, to develop a range of patterns using their yarn. These are available in kit form from Wernddu Alpacas.
